Richards took over the lead on the restart. Evan Hrabik’s 19X hit the implement tire in turn 1 the next circuit for a caution. Markham took the lead the next time around with Richards following him into second the following lap. Dillon Richards put the 19 into third on lap 3 with Messenbrink remaining in fourth. The first few laps of the ATV Motorsports IMCA Sport Compact main event went smoothly with the 66 of Steve Phillips, Dan Markham’s 6, the 23B of Tyler Masek and James Messenbrink’s 33M the top 4. That made the top 4 Thompson, Grabouski, Hiatt and Roth. Shane Hiatt vaulted up to third on the restart with Roth clinging to fourth. His car stopped on the front stretch on the restart to slow the action yet again. Andersen spun in 1 & 2 with 2 to go for another caution. Grabouski advanced to third with 5 laps left. Anthony Roth moved to fourth on the restart in the 60IV. The action slowed again with 8 to go for debris. Jordan Grabouski jumped the 30 up to third 3 laps later. Chad Andersen took advantage of the restart to put the 8C into fourth but lost the spot back to Saathoff the next lap. The yellow lights came on in the corners again the next lap for another spun car. Johnny Saathoff put the 96J into fourth on lap 3. As the lineup reverted to the first completed lap Nate Thompson’s 3T, the 86 of Justin Wulf, Aaron Pella in the 3A and the 7 of Bob Ruisinger were out front. It took until lap 2 of the Nebraska Lottery IMCA Modified A Feature before a caution came out when Terry Hurt looped the 24T on the front stretch. The final top 4 were Ware, Schreiner, Hansen, and Watts. Ware moved to the lead with 6 to go as Jeff Watts put the 66 into fourth.
Jeff Ware cracked the top 4 after another circuit and moved to third the next lap and second after 1 more lap was in the books. Beckman got back past Saathoff the next time around. Mike Hansen put the 94 into third on lap 2 as Saathoff held onto fourth. Brad Schreiner’s 10, the 7T of Tanner Dowty, Nick Beckman in the22 and Brett Saathoff’s 11B were the top 4 after lap 1. Lap 1 of the Valentino’s IMCA Hobby Stock A also saw a spin, this time by the 2C of Dave Carter. With 3 go to Schouten passed Baker for the lead momentarily but Baker got back past to take the win with Schouten second, Andrews third and Wayman fourth. Cole Wayman moved his # 18W to fourth with 10 to go. Matt Andrews jumped the 22 up to third the next lap. Arie Schouten vaulted his 99RE to second on lap 3 as Jeremy Down put the 4D into fourth. The 25! Of Trevor Baker led the first official lap with Shawn Harker’s 40, the 88F of Rich Flock and Braydon Latture’s 14 close behind. The initial circuit of the Coors Light IMCA SportMod feature saw a spin by the 7B of Brandon Baker in turns 1 and 2 and collected the 33B of Breanna Pfansteil, causing a complete restart. No serious incidents marred the preliminary action. Always a favorite of the younger fans, there were smiles on every face!
The crowd was probably the largest this season in anticipation of the kids car rides at intermission, but the gorgeous weather was a bonus. Saturday evening at Eagle Raceway was Junior Fan Club Night presented by Colby Ridge and Great Clips.
