All of that is explained in detail on: TS3 CC Basics - go there and read about it if you don't know how to do that!
Of course, you'll need to have read about any special instructions or compatability (make sure everything you get works with your patch level and expansion/stuff packs!), download the files, and extract them from their archives. Now that you know that package files are working right in your game, you can start downloading custom content yourself! Delete the My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\ folder and try again from Step 1 of "Setup Folders and Files" above.
If you still get the intro movie and build sparkles showing when you test in-game, you must have done something wrong.
If no sparkles appear, then other package format content should work as well!īoth of these files work for any patch level and any/all expansions/stuff packs. Go into build mode and build a wall, or a room.
NoBuildSparkles.package: Nobuildsparkles will show that your custom content is actually working in-game.If the plumbob animation and intro videos no longer play (you go straight to the loading screen), then you know your. nointro.package: The No Intro will eliminate the EA Intro video before the game starts loading, which makes it very quick and easy to see if things are setup properly.package files should be fully working in-game! You already have two package files installed, so you can tell right away whether things are working properly. Delete the Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods folder and start try again from step 1. No! You must have done something wrong.Everything okay? Do your folders look as they should in step 4 and step 5, with all the right files/folders in place? Icon and exactly what it says for "type" are irrelevant as far as working in the game is concerned - what matters is that it ends with. It's okay if your icon looks like a Sims 2 package icon, a monkey, a white sheet of paper, or anything else, and the type may say "PACKAGE" or something else. Note: The picture shows them with a little green plumbbob icon, and "Sims3 Package" under Type. I hope this has been useful for those of you who wanted to merge their cc but didn’t know how to do it.Inside the Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Packages folder Check Packages Folder: Your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages folder should have two files inside it: NoBuildSparkles.package, and nointro.package This is why it’s smart to create smaller folders inside your folder, it’s easier to find certain cc. If you want to get rid of, for example, a dress for your sim, navigate to the clothes folder and search the dress, delete it, and merge the packages again. If none of your cc shows up anymore, you have to delete all the merged packages and bring back your old mods folder. If it are just a few pieces of cc I would download them again and put them in your folder without merging them. There’s a chance that some (or maybe all) cc doesn’t show up in your game anymore. Now paste it in your mods folder and you’re done! Search your new package (it’s placed in the folder where you created it) and copy it.
Put an empty mods folder back into the Sims 3 folder.Ĥ) Putting the new packages in your mods folderĪfter you’ve repeated step 2 with all your folders, it’s time to put them in your mods folder. You’ve already copied your old mods folder and created the new files in it, now it’s time to move the original mods folder to a place where you can easily find it again. The files probably have weird names, just ignore it and close s3pe. When all the files show up, it means that the package is created. It might take a while until all the packages show up in s3pe. You’ll see a new tab, don’t change anything and click on importĪnother tab appears, click on yes and name the package (it’s smart to name it the same as the folder) Select the packages (not more than 50!) and click on open Navigate to the folder with the packages which you want to merge I only have 50 packages in one folder, otherwise the cc won’t show up in my game. When you’ve created these folders, create even smaller folders, like clothes1, clothes2, clothes3. Some people have asked me how I merge my cc so I decided to make a turorial.Īfter I merged my cc, my game became so much faster so I really recommend doing it!ġ) Making your mods folder ready (not necessary but I recommend doing it)ĭivide your mods folder into smaller folders, like accesoires, clothes, hair and objects.
